When we first start a business, we are often just happy to get any customers we can. However, as we start to become more successful, we quickly realize that not all customers are created equal. Just like in a personal relationship, we should be looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right when it comes to business relationships. The right clients will be those who appreciate our work, pay on time, and are generally a pleasure to work with. They will also be the ones who are most likely to refer us to their friends and colleagues. On the other hand, the wrong clients will be those who are always nitpicking our work, demanding discount rates, and generally make us dread having to work with them. It's important to realize that just because someone is a potential customer doesn't mean that they are a good fit for our business. By carefully vetting our clients and only working with those who are truly a good match for us, we can set ourselves up for long-term business success.
